What is Typosquatting?

September 28, 2011 0 Comments Latest News by Kreative

exclamationWhile many of us aren't familiar with the term "typosquatting" ... it is where internet scammers and marketers acquire domains names similar to your but are the most common mistyped versions. Many times they duplicate the visual aspect of you website but embed malicious code in the background.

With the price of domains so cheap now and assuming the tpyo versions of your domain are not already taken ... it is worth your time and expense to purchase these domains and direct them to your website. This ensures that no malicious activity can be tied to your website. The last thing you want is a customer calling stating they got infected by malware or spyware from your website. While we know it didn't come from your website ... the perception is reality and trying to explain that to a customer is typically futile.

PCWorld has a great article on this. > http://bit.ly/oOBoQQ

Facebook to charge for access scam

September 26, 2011 0 Comments Latest News by Kreative Technology Partners

facebook transWe have seen many of our friends posting comments that Facebook is planning on charging for access. Facebook confirmed today that this was not and has never been the case.

There seems to be some premise that if you post the article ... this will deter or prevent you from being charged. This is simply NOT the case. While we cannot confirm that thoise who have this showing on their profile, put it there themselves or whether their account had been compromised. If there is ANY doubt, you should first delete it from your Wall postings and then immediately change your FB password.

Just thought you all would want to know that this is a scam and is totally baseless. Cheers.
